How do I place an order for a custom-built computer?
First, email us at sales01@redbirdk.com and tell us what your planned use of the computer will be; for example, (1) common everyday computing tasks, email, Internet surfing, and casual gaming, or (2) multimedia work, or (3) fast action 3-D gaming, etc. If you have any specific requirements like “I want a processor with a speed of at least 2.6 GHz”, or “I want to make sure I get a 120 GB hard drive”, etc., pass them along also. A desired price range will be helpful but not necessary initially. If you include your name and phone number, we will give you a call to discuss the details.
We will then work up a configuration that we think will satisfy your requirements. We will include an exact quote, including shipping charges.
If you feel the recommended configuration and/or price is not suitable, we will use them as the starting point and tweak them as many times as necessary to arrive at a system that is satisfactory.
Once the configuration is settled, the customer will send payment, at which time we will order all components. After assembly, initial power-on tests, and installation of any software you ordered (including the operating system), the system will be thoroughly tested using special burn-in software.
Once The Redbird Matrix is convinced your computer is “good to go,” it will be shipped to you. During your set-up phase, we will be happy to help you in any way -- just email or call us.

How does The Redbird Matrix select the component brands for a given configuration?
We select only quality, name-brand components that we know have an excellent reliability track record. All components are brand new -- no refurbished or rebuilt components. If the customer desires a specific brand for a given component, we will, of course, use that brand; but only if we feel it is a high-quality, reliable product. We feel that the proper way to lower the cost of a system is to change the specifications rather than resorting to cheap, unreliable components. If a customer insists on poor quality components in order to hold down cost, The Redbird Matrix will not be able to come to terms with that customer.

How long will it take for me to get my computer?
After the final configuration is decided on, you should have your computer in approximately three weeks -- one week for us to order components, one week for assembly and testing, and one week for shipment to you.

What about future upgrades?
If you want future upgrades to your system, and it is not convenient to have it done locally, simply ship your system to us and we will incorporate any upgrades you desire. Of course, we can discuss the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of possible upgrades for your particular system in advance, even if you choose to have the upgrades done locally.
